Am I Trusting Him?

How many times have we read about and even taught others about trusting in God? If we really think about it, how can we not trust in the One who is the Creator of heaven and earth? We should have plenty of reason, just by looking at the night sky and seeing the beautiful stars, or seeing the vast blue ocean, or simply stopping for a moment to observe that little bird sitting in a tree. God tells us that He cares even for the birds, so of course He cares for you (Matthew 6:26).

But so many times we act so stupid, and we forget how Big our God is. Just like Peter in the boat, we stop focusing on Christ and begin to sink in the ocean (Matthew 14:28-31)

Right now I’m going through such a difficult time that I’ve had to take some time off for complete rest (for health reasons). A part of my heart and mind wants to become desperate and upset because of this situation. How stupid is that? Has God ever not shown me that He’s in control? Has He not proved to me time and time again that my life is in His hands? When I think about all that He’s done, I realize once again how much more I have to learn… How much I need to grow!

In the middle of this situation I thank God, not only because He loves me and cares for me, but also because He always provides opportunities for my faith to grow. Not only that, but He also forgives my lack of faith in Him, He takes my hand and He teaches me that if I am grounded in Him, I will not sink.
I don’t know what will happen to me tomorrow, but of one thing I am sure: God knows, and that is more than enough.

Today I’m reminded once again of who my God is, and I’m deciding once again to trust Him, because there is nowhere that’s safer for me to be than in His arms.

Caleb’s First Veggie-Birthday

Praise the Lord, we’re almost settled in! Robert got the computer set up and I can finally do one of the things I’ve most wanted to do since we celebrated my dear son’s birthday: Put up the pictures!

My little boy’s real birthday is May 4th, but because of our move to Tarapoto, Robert and I decided to have his birthday celebration a month ahead of time. And since our family and friends live far from each other and it would be kind of hard to get everyone together, we had two birthday parties for Caleb… what a blessed little boy!

We had our first little party at the BCM campus, where all the missionary children live… God is blessing the missionaries and they keep having more and more children! At the party there were the missionary kids, my parents, my brothers, my grandpa, my pastor’s children and some friends.

We had a wonderful time and Caleb had so much fun

We had the second party at Robert’s family’s house in Callao. Actually, they organized the party and everything went wonderfully. I am so thankful for my husband’s family; I love them so much and I know that they love us too. They went out of their way to make sure that his party would be really great.

Caleb loves Veggietales. He always has fun watching them, and since they don’t sell many Veggietales products here, we spent several nights looking for ideas on Pinterest and other websites, and I thank God that we found some really good ideas.

My dear friend Michelle sent us several things from the U.S. for the party. Thanks Michelle!

Like I said, my little boy is very blessed and God gave him a really nice birthday. I give thanks to God for all of the people that worked hard to make this party happen and for giving us our little miracle named Caleb.
